WEILL MEDICAL COLLEGE OF CORNELL UNIVERSITY
E Building Addition

As a key portion of the Weill Cornell Medical Center’s Major Upgrade Program ($60 million), the E Building has received a three-story addition to the existing six-story structure on York Avenue in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
The new addition provides the medical center with much needed space for their rapidly expanding operations. Housed within are: the Research Animal Resources Center (RARC), Cancer Research Laboratories and light, airy office spaces for RARC administrative personnel. Soft-tone wooden millwork finishes throughout the three floors help to create an orderly, natural feel to both the laboratory environment and the office spaces.
All construction tasks necessary to complete this project were performed while the existing floors below the project area remained occupied and fully-functional. In order to minimize impact upon those operations the jobsite was rigorously contained.
