Butler Library
$100 million dollar multi-phased renovation of the historic Butler Library at the center of the University’s Main Campus. The library is home to Columbia’s world-renowned rare book collection which has been described by school administrators as “Columbia’s single greatest investment”. The construction included extensive environmental upgrades in the rare book stacks, upgrades to existing fire alarm system, electrical infrastructure upgrade, lighting improvement, and extensive HVAC upgrades. Construction on the exterior of the building included an exterior envelope renovation with adjacent roofing & façade work. Student improvements include expanded study areas, reading rooms and Data and A/V packages. All-new Security & Access Control Systems were implemented to protect this valuable educational resource. |
